With Mike Nelson and Matt Helbig, co-founders of RGE, joining Beefree full-time and the infusion of resources from Beefree, RGE will have the opportunity to further invest in its community and expand its offerings while staying true to its roots as a volunteer-driven effort.

RGE users will benefit from the Pro subscription becoming free, allowing users to create multiple collections within their RGE profiles and submit new emails via a Chrome plugin. Additionally, over time, new tools will be introduced to shorten the distance between inspiring emails and editable templates, leveraging Beefree’s extensive catalog of over 1,700 free email & page templates. In addition, popular content initiatives like Feedback Fridays will soon be restarted, along with many other community-focused activities.

6. How will the acquisition affect the Unspam conferences?

With Beefree's backing, Really Good Emails aims to deepen its commitment to the email community by further investing in Unspam, bringing the event to more cities and audiences. The return of Unspam in April of 2024 is the first manifestation of this effort. Keeping with the unconventional and casual environment, the events will continue to offer affordable tickets, with surplus funds supporting community initiatives like scholarships and travel assistance, ensuring Unspam's focus as a community-first event.

7. How will the acquisition influence Beefree’s product development?

Email inspiration will be more deeply integrated in the fabric of Beefree’s products. For example, AI-assisted copywriting could leverage a large array of actual emails that exist in the RGE catalog and that match a specific purpose and industry. To start, the company will use AI-assisted tagging to match 1700+ editable Beefree templates to 15,000+ emails that exist in the RGE catalog, so that visitors to the RGE catalog can be presented with freely and immediately editable templates that match the email that they are viewing. 

8. Will the acquisition affect the cost of Beefree’s services?

The acquisition is not expected to directly affect the cost of Beefree’s existing services. Instead, it will provide additional value to Beefree users through access to previously paid features of RGE’s offerings for free, such as the Pro version of its email collection tool. Over time, the partnership will also foster the development of new, cost-effective solutions by leveraging economies of scale and shared resources.

The primary initiative involves creating a unified platform that dramatically improves the email production workflow, seamlessly integrating the strengths of both companies to fuse inspiration with creation. This integrated platform aims to positively impact the time it takes to go from ideation to project completion, which often requires several weeks in the email space. Many additional initiatives are under consideration, including enhanced community forums, a content publishing platform for members, increased visibility for email professionals, and exclusive access to research and trend insights. These efforts are designed to enrich the resources available to our community, ensuring a vibrant future for email professionals.

RGE and Beefree will seek community input to determine investment priorities for future initiatives. An Advisory Board consisting of community members will provide guidance, ensuring that the community's needs and interests are at the forefront of decision-making. Mike Nelson and Matt Helbig, co-founders of RGE, along with additional RGE staff, will assume full-time roles at Beefree. Justine Jordan - who became Beefree's Head of Strategy and Community this past January - co-organized and co-hosted the recent Unspam conference in Greenville, SC, demonstrating the alignment between Beefree and RGE.
